Happy Feet...

Outside the church.
Jim, being serenaded by the band.
Tim, Jim, Scott & Doug around the groom's cake... a Colt's Superbowl football. These four die-hard fans travel to Nashville, TN each year for the Colt's game.

This weekend, I had happy feet. Monday morning, I had sore feet. I danced till I couldn't dance no mo' Saturday night at Jim and Allison's wedding in Decatur, IL. I'm telling you, we had so much fun. Amy, Scott, Alli, Tim, Doug and I got babysitters (IE - Grandparents) for the kids and had ourselves a good ol' time out on the town.

Jim and Allison's wedding was beautiful. A class act all the way from the invitations, to the reception to the favors. (I took plenty of mental notes for Addie's wedding someday.) I will have to say that their band, topped the proverbial cake... Dave & Rae!!! For those of you who don't know this cover band... um they ROCK and you obviously didn't attend college in Indiana.

We partied way past our "mommy & daddy" bedtimes, but honestly were up bright and early to get home to our sugar dumplins. Isn't it crazy that waking up at 8:00am is considered sleeping in now?!?

I will post more pictures later. Mine didn't turn out so hot, so I'm waiting to get them from Amy & Allie.

Get Around, Get Around, I Get Around...

"She's Got Betty Davis Eyes"
Today, Addie and I came home and had some girl time. I literally walked in the door and stripped her down to her diaper. She let loose and tumbled and scooted all over the nursery floor, exploring books, toys and furniture. I took this photo of her as she rolled up in her blanket.

Opps, I Forgot...

Grandma Reusser and Addie Yeah, Go Team!!!
I totally spaced on writing this blog Monday evening. Sorry Doug. Not to brag, but I will... the Royals are 5-0!!! We had so much fun at the game. Dave, Phyllis, Amy, Scott, Emily & Claire all showed up to cheer Doug's team on to victory. The game was really entertaining and the boys did such a great job in their defeat over the Noblesville Millers. It's been a slow week for baseball thanks to the rainy weather, but we pick up again this weekend and all next week.

Oh I Had A Little Chickie...

My Grandma Newton used to sing us the "Little Chickie" song when we were little. Well I found myself singing this silly tune last night as Miss Addie downed her first bites of chicken. She was at the table with Doug and me, when I decided to see if she would be interested in sampling some of my chicken. Her gums and the lips were smackin' for more during our entire dinner. She loved it! Looks like we have a toothless carnivore on our hands... go figure!

Ahhhh, What A Weekend...

Andy, Doug, Gordie, Scott & Dave enjoy the new fire pit.
Caroline & Claire show the little girls how it's done.
Addie enjoying a Sunday afternoon on the deck.
If Addie had a speech bubble in this picture it would say...
"Yep, I love my momma."
It was a PERFECT weekend. Friday, Addie and I went and cheered Doug and the boys on to their 4th straight victory over Lawrence North. Addie squealed and clapped when the crowd cheered. She absolutely loved it! Saturday, we did yard work all day and got the house ready for the official christening of the patio and fire pit. We had a great group of friends over with their kids. We grilled, laughed out loud til we cried, and enjoyed all of the kiddos. We ended the night roasting mallows around the fire. Sunday, we stuck around home. Addie played outside in her pack-n-play and I read while relaxing on the deck, Doug went fishing, we all took a walk and visited with neighbors. Seriously, life is good!

My Favorites...

I am a blog junkie, these are a few of my favorite blogs that I check on a regular basis.

http://kathymccloy.typepad.com/my_weblog

Kathy McCloy is a high school friend that is constantly on the go. Her little stinker is Cooper and gives her a run for her money. Kathy is witty and her sense of humor shines in her blog. Be sure to check out her link to her photography business that she has recently started.

http://themainesfamily.blogspot.com/

Tim and Alli Maines have a new little one, Bella Raye. It's funny, for the past several years we would get together and our dogs would play together. Now we have "real" kids that set our play dates!

http://keepupwithcaroline.blogspot.com/

Katie and Chip Kenworthy are high school friends that recently welcomed Caroline in to their family. I love the fact that Katie writes the blog as if Caroline was sitting down at the computer typing the text... it's so funny, because she sounds an awful lot like her mommy!!!

http://ranek.blogspot.com/

Gordie is Doug's best friend from high school. Gordie and Amber Ranek welcomed Fallyn into our circle of friends just 12 short days after Addie arrived. It has been so much fun seeing our two little ones grow up together.

http://thewarnersfamily.blogspot.com/

Amy and Scott Warner out did us all with twins. We told them, that of our friends, they got the last pick of the first round and first pick of the second round in our draft of babies. Check out a double dose of cuteness with Emily and Claire.

Red Hot Royals...

Coach Reusser's Freshman Team is 3-0
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, my man is on F-I-R-E!!! The boys have had an impressive start to their season with 3 wins. Vs. Pike 12-2, Vs. Harrison 12 -3, Vs. Avon 12-3. The weather has warmed up enough that Addie and I will be in attendance for tomorrow night's home game vs. Lawrence North. GO ROYALS!!!

Just Because...

AM I CUTE
OR
WHAT???

Weekend in Review...

We had a brunch at the Hansel's celebrating the upcoming arrival of Sophie. Lisa looks wonderful and got lots of goodies for her cutie pie. It was so nice catching up with everyone and seeing how much all of the little ones have grown. We can't wait to meet Sophie in June!!!
Great Grandma Tovey traveled up to Terre Haute... she heard I was coming in town and didn't want to miss out on any hugs and kisses. I entertained Nana and Grampy Newton all afternoon!
Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa Reusser came over for dinner. I had a bunch of new tricks to show them. Here I am showing off my stop, drop and roll skills... are you paying attention Grandma, cause I'm on fire!?!
Yep, just a little bit of cuteness, pushing up to say "Howdie Do!"

Happy Birthday Scotty Potty...

Scott holds up fingers indicating his mental age... he's such a kid at heart! (And we love him for it!) After the recount, we figure he is celebrating birthday #34!!!

The Warners

Amy cooked up the best homemade dinner for Scott's birthday celebration. She has become quite the little "Suzie Homemaker", while on maternity leave. She even baked a cake! The twins are great, just the cutest little punkins. Addie had fun at the party playing and hanging out with Bella Raye.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTT!!!

Back Home Again in Indiana...

I got all gussied up for Easter in my pretty blue dress. I was a very good girl during the service. I played with the program and flirted with people around me. I spent the afternoon and evening with my family at GrMa & GrPa Reusser's home. I had fun playing with my cousins.
Can I tell you how excited I am to be home with Daddy and Tucker... I love those guys! I am even back at daycare with Miss Kathy and all of my buddies.

Addie's Last Day in Savannah...

I took the family out for lunch while we shopped downtown Savannah.
I even ordered my own guacamole!
Nana and Grampy in one of the historical downtown squares.
After dinner, we did a SCAD gallery tour and met some of Uncle Jesse's art students.
When we came home, Ian, Sarah and Aunt Christy came over to play cards.

Friday Evening Tradition...

Addie & Uncle Jesse
Don't let the face fool you, the little stinker liked the hummus appetizer. She kept opening her mouth for more!
Addie with Uncle Jesse and Auntie Kay-Kay

If you ever get the chance to visit Mandy and Jesse, their Friday night tradition is to eat at the Mellow Mushroom. We always have such a good time visiting with their friends. They are regulars there and have made their niche in this local hot spot.

A Baby Burrito...

I swear, I just want to eat her up!!!

A Visit to the McKnight's at Fort Stewart...

Addie LOVES her cousin Meredith.
Aunt Christy and Addie have a "ball" playing in the backyard.

Today we went to visit Christy and the kids at Fort Stewart. For lunch we went to Juan's, a local Mexican restaurant. Addie enjoyed servings of guacamole and black beans... YUM! After our bellies were full, we all surprised Meredith at school. We had the pleasure of meeting her 2nd grade teacher and classmates. We headed back to the McKnight house for an evening of hanging out on their back patio and cooking out. We took a nice walk and played in the backyard. We are trying to enjoy this warm weather before we head back home to Indiana and snow flurries!!! We even had a chance to talk with Mark, he called from Baghdad. We concluded the night watching a comedian that had us in stitches... he was almost as funny as having Mark there with us.

8 Months Old...

Yep, I'm 8 months old today. I shopped til I dropped in Hilton Head with my Mommy and Nana. Only one of the shopping bags is for Mommy, the rest is for me. I'm sprouting like a weed, but I'm doing it in style!

8 Month Milestones and Memories:
- My favorite songs are Patty Cake and Snuggle Puppy.
- I love green beans, squash, carrots and sweet potatoes, but don't care for peas at all.
- I haven't cut any teeth yet, but who needs them when your food is strained.
- I roll front to back and visa-versa.
- I love to "talk" and "sing," but my greatest talent these days is clapping.
- Watching ceiling fans is one of my favorite past times.
- I think doggies just might be the funniest animals alive... I love them!

Our Return to Tybee Island...

Bathing beauty in her bitty bikini.Low tide created the perfect baby pool for us to play in. Addie enjoyed the sand and water.
We saw a huge horseshoe crab that moved with incredible speed, live starfish, sand dollars and tiny fish. Mandy found this huge conk shell in the tide pool.
Did you expect me to go to Tybee Island and NOT take a picture of a sea turtle??? This guy was outside the ice cream shoppe. Too cute!!! Check out more at these websites:

Hard At Work...

I opened up my email today and found pictures attached of our new backyard patio and fire pit! I tell ya folks, I have married a much cuter version of Bob Villa. Doug is such a handy-man and visionary. He really is an integral part of making our house a home! While Addie and I are off enjoying spring break, Doug has been busting a move in our back yard. I think he is going for the "Husband of the Year" award, with this attempt at landscaping. It is still a work in progress, but WOW! I can't wait to get home and see the final product. Well done honey, I'm really impressed!

Anne & Lane's Wedding...

Anne and Lane were married in Washington DC. (For those of you who don't know, Anne is my cousin.) The ceremony may have been one of the most adorable wedding celebrations I have ever attended. Everything had such a personal touch from the readings, to the desserts and music selections. They were married by Hon. Allegra, the federal judge they were clerks with, when they met each other.
Anne and Lane choreographed a dance routine for their first dance that ended with a guitar rendition that Jimmy Hendrix would have been impressed with. Needless to say, they ROCKED!!! Both newlyweds were red-faced during the best man and maid of honor speeches that included slide-shows with very embarrassing childhood pictures. We were all in stitches with tears in our eyes from laughing so hard.
The wedding and reception took place in a gorgeous historical building, The Washington Club.
We had a great time with all of the Newton family. The highlight of the night was getting Grandma Newton out on the dance floor to shake it to Beyonce.
The send off at the end of the night included noise makers on the city streets (This is such an Anne thing.) The happy couple is off to Thailand for their honeymoon. Congratulations Anne & Lane!

Addie Hits Washington DC...

Hey folks, we have made it to DC. I was a fantastic co-pilot on the trip out to Washington DC. I think I've got this traveling gig down pat. This is a busy, busy town with a lot going on and I haven't missed a beat. I've been sightseeing, shopping, out to eat and have even attended a wedding. I might be in a new town, but I have seen lots of familiar faces... the whole Newton Klan is here!
Mommy had a lot of fun at the Aero Space Technology Museum. There was a really cool exhibit, American Treasures, which featured items donated from past and present American cultural icons. Here she is attempting to look like she is wearing President Lincoln's top hat... silly Mommy! We saw the original Kermit the Frog puppet, Carrie Bradshaw's computer, Gen. George Washington's uniform, Dorthy's ruby red slippers, and much, much more! Mommy's big purchase was Jackie O. replica black sunglasses. She looks stunning in them!
This weekend was the kick-off for the annual cherry blossom festival in DC. The trees were gorgeous.
Nana and Grampy pose for the camera. They have been so much fun to travel with. Grampy is a history buff and is in all of his glory here in Washington DC. Nana, well she is better at purchasing "souvenirs".
The WWII Memorial was very impressive. Mommy took pictures of the Indiana memorial post, because both of her grandpas served in the war. Grandpa Newton was in the army and served in Europe on the Atlantic front. Grandpa Tovey was in the navy and served on the Pacific front. This was mommy's favorite place to visit with Grampy.
