Snow Day...

This is the amazing sight we woke up to this morning... a good foot of beautiful snow! We really enjoyed our snow day and couldn't wait to play in the snow with Addie for the first time ever! Little girl loved throwing the snow up in the air and making snow angels. Doug was just as big a kid a she was sledding, throwing snowballs and making mini snow forts on the deck with the tools from the sandbox. We wrapped up our fun with hot cocoa and marshmallows!

Rub-A-Dub-Dub...

Addie in a tub
Lately, I can't get a genuine smile out of my sassy-pants child when I have a camera in my hand. I always get the "No Mommy" or "No camera Mommy!" comments thrown in my face. Saturday morning the lighting in our master bathroom was beautiful and I couldn't resist trying to take at least a few quick shots while Addie played in the water. Lo and behold the stars aligned and I got a "I love my mommy and her camera" smile!!!

Monday...

Monday, mommy didn't have to work (Thank you Mr. King!) so we went to gymnastics! Mr. Troy took us down to where the big kids tumble and practice their routines. BOY, did I have a blast! The floors are springy and I could bounce like a frog all over the place. We got to flip around and hang on the bars and climb over all of the barrels. But the best part you ask... well, it was the HUGE pit of foam blocks!!! I jumped in over and over and over again. Thanks Mr. Troy for a fun-filled morning!

You guys crack me up!

Saturday morning we all met in Terre Haute to have brunch at GrMa Newton's home. Anne and Lane were in town from DC for the weekend. Brunch was amazing and catching up with everyone was a lot of fun!

Happy Sweet 16 Alexis!

Introducing Peanut #2...

Baby Reusser at ~7 weeks

I know this picture doesn't look like much, but it means the world to us! Prayers have been answered and God has blessed our family with another baby. I had a second ultrasound today at 10 weeks and everything is good to go! It's amazing how much has changed in just a few short weeks... especially in size. (Maybe that explains why I popped a button on my pants at work last week! It may be time to put away the "skinny" jeans!) It is such a relief to see our little grape-sized peanut growing and moving around at each appointment. The baby has a strong heartbeat and is due August 13th...17th. (They've changed the date at all 3 appointments.) And if you are wondering... No, we won't be finding out the sex. (Deal with it Mandy!)

Addie is very excited about being a big sister. Every time we ask her what she wants the baby to be she replies, "A boy. I want a broder." (This makes her father very excited!) She is very gentle around my belly and will kiss it saying, "Shh, baby is sleeping." I can't wait to watch our family and our love grow as we prepare for and welcome our newest little one this summer.

Knock on Wood...

I think we've turned a corner with potty training. Addie hasn't had 1 single accident since Monday morning. Her diapers are also dry after nap time and in the morning when she wakes up! I am so excited for this development, but am not going to push anything... at her own pace seems to be working out just fine.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We had so much fun hosting our friends Christmas/New Year's celebration this year! The kiddos were W-I-L-D... and too adorable running around, playing dress up and opening gifts. We rocked out on the Wii and Guitar Hero until after 2 in the morning. (I was just impressed that I was up past 10 o'clock!) Thanks for helping us ring in the New Year!

Special Delivery...

When I arrived home I had a package from GrMa Deb waiting for me. It was full of some really cool holiday treats. I love my scarf and wear it often. Did you know I LOVE puzzles? My new giraffe number and letter puzzle was an instant hit! Love you GrMa Deb!

Dirty Santa Gift Exchange With The Newton Family

Our original family gathering was canceled Tuesday night, due to the weather. This was the first time in history that anything stopped a Newton family gathering... we knew it would take an act of God! We all gathered the evening of Christmas Day at Uncle Chris and Aunt April's home for dinner. The kiddos had a great time playing together and many chuckles were heard as Dirty Santa gifts were revealed. The game quickly became organized chaos!
