Poolside Lunch with Shamu...

Who has the GREATEST DADDY IN THE WORLD? In case there is ANY doubt, that would be MY DADDY! As an extra surprise for our already BIG day, he purchased our family lunch passes to dine poolside for a private show with Shamu (aka Orchid). She was a big showoff and quite the entertainer, performing all of her wonderful tricks with her trainer while we dined on a delicious lunch. It was an absolutely amazing experience that I know our family will remember our entire lives. Personally I think my mommy likes animals just as much as I do... she eats this stuff up! Thanks Daddy, we love you!!!

And to Wrap Up the Day...

We finished up the day watching the Shamu Show where Orchid and her trainer performed for us yet again... they got serious skills! Daddy surprised me with my very own Shamu Whale!

Happy Valentines' Day!!!

I spent the day with GrMa & GrPa while mommy and daddy went on a date! They took me on the "cho-cho" train to a Mexican restaurant... I showed them I know how to put the refried beans and spicy rice DOWN! They were pretty impressed with my international flare for food! Mommy and daddy hit the outlet malls and lunch on the beach at an Italian restaurant. GrMa and GrPa grilled steaks for dinner for all of us. Afterwards we headed up to Oceanside to play at the beach and to walk the pier.

Downtown Disney...

We enjoyed shopping, eating and taking in all of the sights and sounds of Downtown Disney. I know we technically didn't "go" to Disney (That's later this summer for the 3rd birthday!), but we couldn't resist purchasing the Minnie Mouse ears! Check out more of the day's pictures below.

The LEGO Store...

Wow! Is the first word that comes to mind when you walk through this store in Downtown Disney. Everything you see in these pictures is made up entirely of LEGOs. I'm not talking about the big over sized toddler ones either... they are all constructed using the minuscule, chocking hazard sized LEGOs. These people either have serious talent, or WAY too much time on their hands!

A Walk on the Wild Side!

We enjoyed a lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Needless to say, our animal lovin' little monkey ate this place up!

Bon Voyage...

We got to wave good bye to GrMa and GrPa Reusser as their cruise ship prepared to set sail. Enjoy the first of your 2 cruises this spring. (Lucky ducks!) We really enjoyed our vacation with you in the San Diego area!

Our Last Day of Vacation...

Was a jammed packed day full of sight-seeing in downtown San Diego. We started off the day visiting Coronado Island. I instantly fell in love with the beach bungalows and white picket fences that inhabit this island. We went to the beach and watched the surfers as we walked the shoreline. Next we headed to Balboa Park and spotted the tits of all cars "The General Lee" along with Porsches, Ferraris and Shelby Cobras. Next stop was Sunday brunch at the nationally renowned Richard Walker's Pancake House... and it did not disappoint! After brunch we walked the historical Gas Lamp District and headed down along the harbour to stroll the boardwalk where the Midway aircraft carrier is stationed. That evening we headed to the hotel for dinner, a quick dip in the pool and movie night.

What is a Vacation Without Souvenirs?

I couldn't return home without bringing my favorite friend a gift. Of course, Annabelle needed her own Sleeping Beauty outfit from Disney Land. It's the trifecta: Addie is Sleeping Beauty, Annabelle is Sleeping Beauty and we can WATCH Sleeping Beauty all at the same time... that is something how Tuesday evening went at the Reusser household!

Sad News at the Reusser House

Some of you might know already, but we found out Tuesday that we lost our little peanut. Our baby stopped developing a couple of weeks after our last ultra sound. Angie went into the doctor for a routine appointment at 14 weeks and the doctor couldn't find a heartbeat. On Wednesday, she went into the hospital for outpatient surgery and is currently on the mend. We appreciate all the well wishes, prayers, food and flowers. It might take a few days to call people back, but know we have received all your calls. We are so blessed to have great people around us!

Doug

PS We have great pictures from our trip and we can't wait to post them....be patient.

And We're Off...

Tomorrow we leave for sunny California! Doug's parents are out in San Diego for the month and we are headed out to vacation with them for the next week. We are planning on hanging out, going to the beach, do some shopping and some sight seeing. Our big ticket items will be visiting the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. Addie just might disown us if she doesn't get to meet Shamu the "dolphin." Even with pictures her stubborn brain is convinced the killer whale is in fact a dolphin... we'll see if a face to face encounter can teach her the difference! See you all in a week. Pictures and posts to come!

Fun with the Warners...

Wrestling with Uncle Scott... I can drop a mean "Corporate Elbow!"
My Birthday Buddy, Auntie Amy
HAPPY 31-1/2 to YOU!!!

Half Birthdays...

I swore I would never be a mother who recognized, let alone celebrated "half" birthdays. I always felt like kids were being spoiled rotten... was one birthday celebration not enough? Well, this past week, I officially became a mother who recognizes all aspects of my daughter's life and yes, SHE IS SPOILED! February 4th, Addie officially turned 2 1/2 and we celebrated with cupcakes after dinner. When asked how old she is, Addie now proudly states that she is in fact "2 AND A HALF."
